Happy Spring! Easter is next week and the flowers are in bloom and new life has begun.

Any funds received throughout the year, besides September when we fund raise for pediatric cancer cure research, directly support our families. More families are reaching out to us and their many needs are ongoing. There are extra burdens on families due to hospital stays and when their child is in treatment. Also, one parent usually has to quit working and becomes the 24/7 caregiver which places a huge financial strain on the family. We help families with gift cards for food, gas, emergency needs plus financial assistance for rent, mortgage, utilities, medical bills, funeral expenses and emergencies.

Also, when a child receives one of your gift donations during treatment, it lifts their spirits and makes them feel loved during their battle! No donation is too small and it all makes a difference for these children and their families.

Hera Lainey has legally changed her to name to Thomasin Grace. She is a music singing artist and a dear friend who created a single "Some People Never", written and sung by her in memory of Bella. The message is "It Changes Everything!" A Yale professor named Jaroslav Pelikan was a leading authority on Christian history. He was recognized for his extensive academic career and published more than thirty books. He won the Kluge Prize lifetime award for his writing. One student reflected on what he considered his teacher's most important words that were spoken upon his deathbed- "If Christ is risen, nothing else matters. And if Christ is not-nothing else matters."

The professor reiterated the apostle Paul's conviction, "If Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith." (1 Corinthians 15:14) Paul made such a bold statement because he knew that the resurrection was not a one time miracle but the solid foundation of God's redeeming work in human history. The promise of resurrection wasn't only God's assurance that Jesus would rise from the dead but His bold affirmation that other dead and broken things such as our lives, family situations, health, neighborhoods, relationships, worldly issues etc..would also one day be brought back to life through Christ. If there's no resurrection, however, Paul knew we are in deep trouble. If there's no resurrection, then death and the enemy win.

As Holy week approaches I ponder on the resurrection and what it means to me in my life. April 6th is Bella's day of passing from this earthly life into her heavenly life. I live and breathe for the day that I will hug and kiss her again! This is ONLY possible because of my salvation and I know without a doubt that I will spend eternity with Bella. My hope is in Jesus! I am just His humble servant until He calls me home.

Of course, "Christ has indeed been raised from the dead." (1 Corinthians 20) Destroyed by the Victor, death loses! Jesus is the "first fruits" of all the life that will follow. He conquered evil and death so that we could live firm in our faith and free. It changes everything!

Thanks be to God for sending Jesus to save all who believe so we can spend eternity in Heaven.
