*Copied from Caring Bridge* Holiday Greetings! I hope that everyone had a nice Thanksgiving and that you all enjoy the festivities of the season. It is hard to believe how fast the holidays arrive but I pray that you will have some time to reflect on Christ's birth and the best gift we could ever receive! This blog will move to our website and this will be my last post on Caring Bridge but I will send you a reminder to view the monthly update, Bible message and prayer list on our website. We need and believe in prayer!!!! Prayer is sooo powerful!!! The message from my prayer book is "A Beautiful Mosaic". The church of the Visitation in Ein Karem, Israel, has a beautiful display of sixty-seven mosaics with the words from Luke 1:46-55 in many languages. It is known as the Magnificat from the Latin "to magnify," these verses are Mary's joyous response to the announcement that she will be the mother of Jesus. Each plaque contains contains Mary's words, including: "My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior...For the Mighty One has done great things for me." The biblical hymn etched in the tiles is a song of praise as Mary rejoices in the faithfulness of God to her and the nation of Israel. Mary is a grateful recipient of God's grace and rejoices in her salvation. She acknowledges that God's mercy has extended to the Israelites for generations. Looking back over God's care for the Israelites, Mary praises God for His powerful acts on behalf of His people. She also thanks God, recognizing that her daily provision comes from His loving hand. Mary demonstrates that recounting the great things God has done for us is a way to express praise and can lead us to rejoice in His saving grace. This holy season, consider God's goodness as you reflect on the year. May his grace create a beautiful mosaic of praise and peace in your life. Rejoice!
