Thank you to everyone who supported our September fundraising benefiting pediatric cancer cure research with funds going to MUSC and OSI. A few fundraising opportunities have rolled over into October. Therefore, the total raised will not be able to be announced until the end of November or beginning of December.
The survey opportunity has been extended to 11:59pm Tuesday, October 3rd. Each one takes about one minute to complete, they don't sell your personal information and each survey earns us $1.60. Each adult can take up to 75 surveys and if you complete all 75, you will be entered into a raffle to win one of two $100 Visa gift cards. Each survey adds up!

3. Riverside Middle School moved their Spirit Week from September to the week of October 16th-20th but the funds raised will still benefit pediatric cancer cure research.
More families are reaching out to us and their many needs are ongoing. There are extra burdens on families due to hospital stays and when their child is in treatment. One parent usually has to quit working and becomes the 24/7 caregiver which places a huge financial strain on the family. We help families with gift cards for food, gas, emergency needs plus financial assistance for rent, mortgage, utilities, medical bills, funeral expenses and emergencies.
Also, when a child receives one of your gift donations during treatment, it lifts their spirits and makes them feel loved during their battle!

Hera Lainey has legally changed her to name to Thomasin Grace. She is a music singing artist and a dear friend who created a single "Some People Never", written and sung by her in memory of Bella. It is available for purchase on itunes and various music sites. 100% of the proceeds from this song will go towards our ministry! It is a beautiful tribute! The monthly spiritual message is: The Sunflower Battle. Deer love sunflowers and we love the blooms and seeds! As we look forward to the beauty of their blooms, the deer have another agenda. They enjoy eating away at their stalks and leaves until there is nothing left. It is a battle where sometimes the sunflowers win and are in full bloom and sometimes the deer win and destroy the flowers.
As we think about our lives as believers in Jesus, it's easy to see a similar battle between us and Satan. We strive for continual growth leading to spiritual maturity that helps our lives stand out for the glory of God. The enemy, Satan, wants to devour our faith and prevent us from growing. However, Jesus has supreme authority over "every power" and can bring us "to fullness." (Colossians 2:10) This means that He makes us "complete." Christ's victory on the cross assures us that death and the enemy will not defeat us since we are believers in Christ. We are rooted in a firm foundation and made alive in Christ forever. When Jesus was nailed to the cross, He took the penalty for our sins and destroyed the powers that controlled us. Because of Jesus, we have the power to resist the enemy's spiritual attacks and to flourish in Jesus even up to our last breath. Portraying a life with a servant's heart for Jesus, knowing that death will never defeat us, is the beautiful assurance of the victory in our salvation.
As my mom was moved out of ICU into a regular room at the hospital. I happened to look across the hallway at the wall directly outside of her room. What was hanging there? A beautiful sunflower with a yellow butterfly! If you recall in my last message, the sunflower is the flower for all sarcoma cancers (Bella had osteosarcoma) and yellow butterflies have been attributed to Bella since her passing. Almost every day, I have seen a yellow butterfly upon leaving the hospital. The other day when my brother and I were outside talking in the open with no birds or trees around, a little white feather floated down in front of us. There is no doubt that these were signs from Bella and we thank God for these blessings. God is with us always!
Prayer: Loving God, make my life beautiful for You. Help me to have a humble and servant's heart in Your precious name. Thank you for Jesus' death and the victory of the resurrection which is my firm foundation of hope, power and courage in You, my everlasting God.
