May 1, 2023- Happy Spring & Mother's Day!

It is wonderful to see all of the beautiful flowers and trees in bloom:) It is a new birth and time to rejoice at the majesty of our Lord's creation.

Remember to honor your mom, stepmom's, and any mother figure in your life on May 14th. I thank my mom and stepmom for all of their love, support and prayers throughout my life! I am blessed to have such a loving family.

Our upcoming 4th Annual "Celebration" fundraiser has been a great success! Thanks to your generous donations, we exceeded our goal and raised over $23,275 to help our local families who have a child with cancer or a life threatening illness.

Any funds received throughout the year, besides September when we fund raise for pediatric cancer cure research, directly support our families. More families are reaching out to us and their many needs are ongoing. There are extra burdens on families due to hospital stays and when their child is in treatment. Also, one parent usually has to quit working and becomes the 24/7 caregiver which places a huge financial strain on the family. We help families with gift cards for food, gas, emergency needs plus financial assistance for rent, mortgage, utilities, medical bills, funeral expenses and emergencies.

Also, when a child receives one of your gift donations during treatment, it lifts their spirits and makes them feel loved during their battle! No donation is too small and it all makes a difference for these children and their families.

We thank all of our annual Business Sponsors for their support! We are ALWAYS in need of business annual sponsors. This is how we receive some of our greatest amount of funding to help support our programs. Our Golden Sponsor is Johnston Orthodontics. If you or your child needs an AWESOME orthodontist, look no further, and call 864-877-2929. We are so thankful for their excellent care that they provided to Bella.

Also, our Silver Sponsor is D&D Motors. If you are looking to buy or sell a vehicle, please don't look any further for excellent service and contact them at 888-253-5950.

Remember our ministry in prayer, the families we serve and the medical teams that care for children with life threatening illnesses. We are truly humbled and blessed to be on this journey of faith. If you would like me to add your name to the prayer list, please email me at: brenda@angelheartofhope.org and I will update the prayer list regularly. You can also email me with any specific prayer requests that you want me to pray about privately. God is love. Treat everyone with love and kindness.

Hera Lainey has legally changed her to name to Thomasin Grace. She is a music singing artist and a dear friend who created a single "Some People Never", written and sung by her in memory of Bella. It is available for purchase on itunes and various music sites. 100% of the proceeds from this song will go towards our ministry! Her website is still: www.heralainey.com. It is a beautiful tribute!

Areshi, Thomasin's partner, who is also a musician has a website at:www.areshimusic.com.

If you shop on Amazon, our former link is extinct- http://smile.amazon.com/ch/83-0996431. Amazon no longer offers a portion of purchases to nonprofits and has sadly discontinued their smile program.

The message this month is "Make Every Moment Count!" Located in a library's archives at the University of North Carolina is a pocket watch with frozen hands that tell a heartbreaking tale. 8:19 and 56 seconds is the watch's exact moment that the owner, Elisha Mitchell, slipped and fell to his death at a waterfall in the Appalachian Mountains on the morning of June 27, 1857.

Mr. Mitchell was a professor at the university and gathering data to justify his claim that the mountain peak he was on, was the highest one east of the Mississippi. His claim was correct and no bears his name, Mount Mitchell. His grave is located at the mountain's summit, not far from where he fell.

It was on a trip with Bella and Dorin after we visited Mount Mitchell that we decided to visit Grandfather Mountain as well. While it isn't as tall as Mount Mitchell, it is globally famous for its mile high swinging bridge. This is where I thought my life would end! Bella and Dorin wanted to venture out on the 228' bridge ensuring me it was safe. We got about halfway across and I froze! I couldn't move and fear swept over me. I stood there a few minutes paralyzed with fear while others went around me. Finally, I realized the only way off the bridge was to go forward or back and that I had to move! Inch by inch I made it back to safety and thanked God for helping me!

As I reflect on Mr. Mitchell's story and the brevity of our own mortality, I am reminded that every second of life is a gift! Currently, a dear friend of mine, Tammy Daniels, is battling stage 4 brain cancer. I humbly ask all of you reading this to please pray for a miracle of earthly healing for her and share this prayer with others. Also, a miracle of healing is needed for these children, Riley Faith and Hannah, and for all of those suffering with terminal illnesses. I know God is the great physician and able to heal completely.

All of us only have so much time on this earth. I pondered Jesus' words about His return as He spoke to His disciples on the Mount of Olives: "So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him" (Matthew 24:44).

Jesus clearly indicates that none of us knows the moment He will return and establish His kingdom forever or when He may summon us to leave this earthly life and come to Him. He tells us to be ready and "keep watch."

Tick...tock...tick...the hands on the clock of each of our lives is still moving, but for how long? When it stops will you be prepared, willing and ready? I know without a doubt, that my friend, Tammy, will be ready to go to heaven when God calls her home in His perfect timing. She is a child of God! May we all live out our moments in love for our merciful Savior, waiting and working for Him.

Prayer: Loving Savior, please help me to be ready to meet You at any time! Help me to have a servant's heart as I serve and love others in Your name, Jesus.

Scripture verse: Matthew 24:42 Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.

Wishing you all many blessings!

In Peace and love,

Brenda
