Greetings everyone! I hope you are enjoying the beautiful fall season! Thanksgiving is around the corner! Let's take time to pause and thank God for His many blessings in our lives:) We are so grateful for everyone's support for our initial pediatric fundraising during September. Thanks to all of you, we were able to raise a total of $8,442.69 towards pediatric cancer cure research! Praise God for all of His goodness! Thank you for your continual prayers and supporting children with life threatening illnesses. There are many unexpected financial burdens placed on a family, especially due to hospital stays. Please remember the children who are fighting, those in remission and the families who have lost a loved one. God is our strength; keep your focus on Him and pray! The message today is "A Lesson By Turkeys." Do you know what a group of turkeys is called? It's called a rafter. Often, as I sit working at my desk glancing up at the window, a rafter of turkeys will be in my neighbors yard. Whether they are pecking at the ground for food with the babies, or the males dancing around the females with their feathers in full bloom, they are a sight to see. As I watch those well fed turkeys, it brings to mind Jesus' words in Matthew 6:26: "Look at the birds in the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?" Jesus uses God's provision for seemingly worthless birds to remind us of His care for us. If a bird's life matters, how much more does ours? Jesus then contrasts fretting about our daily needs with a life in which we "seek first his kingdom and his righteousness", one in which we are confident of His rich provision for our needs. If God can care for that rafter of wild turkeys, He can certainly care after you and me. Prayer: Father, sometimes I get anxious over the daily challenges, life struggles and worry takes over. Help me to trust in your provision. Thank you for caring for me and all of the daily blessings that surround me in Your love.
