As I get older, it seems like each year passes by more quickly than the last! The holidays are fast approaching but it is a time of year to reflect and be thankful for the many blessings we have received this year.
Today, is Giving Tuesday and your year end donations help support our children and families with gifts and financial assistance for rent, mortgage, funeral expenses and emergency expenses. You can donate on FB or our website-www.angelheartofhope.org.
If you decide to do a monthly recurring donation through our FB page through December 31st, after your 2nd donation, Meta (FB) will donate up to $100 for each donation. No donation is too small and all donations make a difference.
Please keep our ministry in prayer, the families we serve and the medical teams that care for children with life threatening illnesses. The message is "A Thankful Heart." There is so much going on in our world and around us but seeing difficult circumstances or others going through unfortunate events, ex. the war in Ukraine, the recent hurricanes, makes us aware of the many blessings we have in our lives. There are many things we often take for granted like having food, shelter, good health, our faith, family and friends which we should thank God for on a daily basis. An attitude of gratitude keeps us focused on our many blessings from God and how we can help those that are less fortunate for His glory.
The apostle Paul may have agreed. In Romans 1:21, he wrote that one of the triggers for the downward collapse of humankind was that they refused to give thanks to God. Writing to the church in at Colossae, three times Paul challenged his fellow believers in Christ to gratitude. He said we should be "overflowing with thankfulness" (Colossians 2:7) As we let God's peace "rule in our hearts,' we're to respond with thankfulness. In fact, gratitude ought to characterize our prayers.
God's amazing kindnesses reminds us of a great truth. He not only deserves our love and worship, He also deserves our thankful hearts. Everything that is good in life comes from Him.
We have all been blessed in various ways and may we respond to God's gracious gifts with prayers of thanksgiving to Him.
Prayer: Loving Father, forgive me for the times I've taken You and Your blessings for granted. Create in me a thankful heart, so I share my blessings with others for Your glory.
Scripture verse: Colossians 4:2 Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.
