Happy Thanksgiving Month!

This month of thanks makes us especially mindful how grateful we are to everyone for all of your love, prayers, support and being on this journey with us.

Thank you to everyone who supported our fall fundraising benefiting pediatric cancer cure research.

Families reach out to us and their many needs are ongoing. There are extra burdens due to hospital stays and when their child is in treatment. One parent usually has to quit working and becomes the 24/7 caregiver which places a huge financial strain on the family. We help families with gift cards for food, gas, emergency needs plus financial assistance for rent, mortgage, utilities, medical bills, funeral expenses and emergencies.

Also, when a child receives one of your gift donations during treatment, it lifts their spirits and makes them feel loved during their battle!

Hera Lainey has legally changed her to name to Thomasin Grace. She is a music singing artist and a dear friend who created a single "Some People Never", written and sung by her in memory of Bella. It is available for purchase on itunes and various music sites. 100% of the proceeds from this song will go towards our ministry! It is a beautiful tribute! This spiritual message this month is:

A Thankful Heart

It is so easy to become frustrated, anxious and worried with everything going on in the world and around us. Recently, my mom passed away and even though we were thankful for the time we had with her, we were still ungrateful thinking, "If we just had more time..." In order to find peace we have to reflect on our many blessings all around us and give thanks to God for His goodness. This isn't always easy to see especially in times of grief, worry and despair. However, as I turned on the news and saw all of the atrocities in the war overseas of innocent people and children who were beheaded, burned in ovens and limbs cut off, my heart was so heavy for those who lost loved ones and didn't have time to prepare. What is our world coming to? We need peace and we all need to pray for peace!  The children are our future and we are to be an example to others showing love and mercy like Jesus does for us.

Reading in Romans 1:21, Paul wrote that one of the triggers for the downward collapse of humankind was that they refused to give thanks to God. Writing to the church in  Colossae, three times Paul challenged his fellow believers in Christ to gratitude. He said we should be "overflowing with thankfulness". As we let God's peace  "rule in our hearts," we're to respond with thankfulness. In fact, gratitude ought to characterize our prayers.

God's great kindnesses remind us of one of life's greatest realities. He not only deserves our love and worship, He also deserves our thankful hearts. Everything that's good in life comes from Him. (James 1:17) When we begin to focus on how fortunate we are to have family, friends, freedoms, work, food, good health, youth, retirement, shelter and clothing plus the ability to help others, we realize that we have so much to be thankful for.

With all of the blessings we've been given in Christ, gratitude should be as natural as breathing. May we respond to God's gracious gifts by expressing our grateful hearts to Him because "God is good and He is with us."

Prayer: Loving Father, forgive me for the many times I've taken for granted You and Your blessings. Create in me a thankful heart willing to serve You as the hands and feet of Jesus. Help me to remember to honor and praise You for all You have done and all you are doing now and forevermore.

Scripture verse: Colossians 4:2 Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.
