Happy Month of Love

Happy Month of love! With January already behind us, let's keep moving forward in love and kindness towards one another.

The monthly message is: What Is Love?

I pondered the word, love, including its meaning:

1. An intense feeling of deep affection. This is expressed towards our

family, children, friends, pets and cherishing time spent together. Also, the affection and tenderness felt by lovers.

2.  A great interest and pleasure in something. This could be a hobby, talent, work or volunteer service.

As time goes on, I have learned other meanings of love through my life and others' experiences such as:

1. Making a personal sacrifice for the greater good of this world.

2. Putting others' needs before your own.

3. Saying "I am sorry" even if you are right.

4. Forgiving someone who has hurt you by offering them undeserving grace and wanting the best for them.

   
   

This year our scripture 2025 theme is: John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

The most important meaning to me is that God is love. He loved us so much to send His only Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for our sins. Not one of us is deserving of His love and mercy but Jesus offers everyone the free gift of salvation to spend eternity in heaven. He asks each of us to believe that he died on the cross for our sins, rose from the dead on the third day and repent, asking Him to come into our heart. Trust me, when the Holy Spirit resides inside of you, you will know it and it is a life changing experience! You will exude peace, love and will never, ever be the same again. You want everyone to know Jesus like you do!

Love always wins because God is love and He is the only One who can save you for eternity. If we treat others with the same love and mercy offered to us, undeserving, by Jesus, imagine how beautiful the world would be. Thank you Jesus for showing us the true meaning of love...
